Dear Friends,
Welcome to our homepage. We hope you will enjoy
looking around and getting to know us a little
better. Thank you for your interest in our Nubian
Dairy Goats.
There is something about the regal look, those long
ears and roman nose that make them more than just
"another goat". We started with Dairy Goats six
years ago as pets and weed eaters. Our back two
acres was so thick with brush and vines that it was
impossible to see through, let alone walk through,
so the first two does were working girls. Their job
was to EAT. And they have done their job well. My
backyard is now nicely cleared under the tall
trees, and we can enjoy the colors when the
dogwoods and magnolias bloom.
Over the years the goat herd has remained at 2,
until last year. With the addition of two purebred
rescues does, and a purebred buck, the herd is now
up to nine. The influence of many new friends from
the NubianTalk email list has changed the direction
of our little herd. Thanks Liz Streithorst and
Suzanne Nee for the wonderful genetics that are now
the foundation for our herd. We now breed our
animals for correct conformation, spoiled rotten
disposition and milking ability. We want our
animals to be wonderful pets, place well in the
show ring, but to also put milk in the bucket.
Our animals are fed the best alfalfa hay we can
find and a good grain that is high in protein for
the milkers. The kids are raised on heat-treated
colostrum and pasteurized milk. We will go on DHIR
when the does freshen and will be Linear Appraised
in the future.
We will have a few animals for sale next year. A
deposit of $50 is required to reserve your kid.
Balance due and kid to be picked up or shipped by
six weeks of age, otherwise deposit will be
forfeit. Please make a second choice. All shipping
expenses, crate and air fare to be paid by
purchaser before shipping. Health papers will cost
$30. We offer a discount of $50 those on DHIR,
LA/HES and to those in 4-H. Visitors are welcome.
Shipping is done from the New Orleans, LA or
Jackson, MS airport. Feel free to drop us a line if
you have questions or would like additional
information at scootter@cableone.net
Sincerely
Pat and Dween Muse
